    Received a call from someone claiming to be from Telstra and that there was an issue with my internet speed. Noisy background and caller was trying to explain that apparently my computer was compromised and they were going to fix it. After several attempts of trying to obtain information on my computer, I hung up. They kept calling back.

    Rang me today and told me he was from Telstra and that I had problems with my internet service. As soon as I told him I had no internet service in my name, he hung up! I believe he'd been going to try and get into my computer as he told me had been seeing what I was looking at online!

    Returned call from Sydney landline number 61280721341 which doesn't actually ring but cut to a female automated message stating repeatedly "this account account number not valid".

    Spam caller of who knows what heights of dubious must be concluded.

    Received a call from someone called “jack” selling solar panels. When I said I wasn’t interested he called me a stupid bitch and then became very obscene.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
