I just got a call from that no 0280064365, with computer generated voice & asked me to call back. If you don't call back that department division, they will give warrant & arrest me.. What the hell.
Scam for sure.
Best phone call I have returned in a long time. As everybody else says it is an ATO Scam. But don't hang up on them, you can have a great time. I played along for a little bit before unleashing an absolute torrent of abuse at him. Initially they were shocked then they tried to abuse back at which I laughed my head off. This only got him more spun up. Great times. Good laughs.
ATO Tax Scam. They will try to convince you that you will be arrested if you don't pay an outstanding tax bill in iTunes cards. As if anybody with half a brain would believe that you pay off a tax bill in iTunes.
Threatening to have me arrested if I don't call back Scam!
Hahaha..."we are from the Taxation Office and will issue with an arrest order if you don't call us back now in this number" (...said a recorded robot like voice on the other side). That was the best joke of my day hahaha....
Same as everyone else - voicemail with electronic voice recording claiming if I didn't ring back they'd issue a warrant for my arrest. I asked a friend to ring back from a different number and they told me that the phone was answered by an Indian person who couldn't speak English very well who said that they were from the Investigation Office of the Australian Taxation Office. Clearly a scam as there is no way the tax office would seek as a first step to arrest you for a tax investigation. This is the sort of thing which gives Indian people a bad name.
Scammer, do not give information!
This is not the ato.
Yep, ATO scam call.
Left a VM threatening to get me arrested if I didn't call back immediately.
Scam!
This is a scam.
Just received a call and a pre recorded voice mail from this number about an arrest warrant. Scam call, do not return call.
Got a scam call from this number claiming to be from the tax office.
Caller is voice recorded and claims to be from the ATO identifying that legal action has been taken against you. They direct you call back the number displayed or an arrest warrant will be issued.
I can assure you. The ATO do not operate like this. This is a scam.
Received a call and voice mail from this number. A computer generated voice repeated the number it was calling from saying that if I don't call back an arrest warrant will be issued and I will be arrested. The call ends with a 'thank you'.
Highly unlikely I will call back but I appreciated the courtesy of a 'thank you'.
SPAM- usual tax scam.
Didn't pick up call, left a robotic voice mail saying that there is a lawsuit case getting filed under my name, and I need to 'get back to him on his department division' on this number. Also said if I do not get back to them they will need to issue warrant and get me arrested. So funny.
Scam!! they left a message saying if I don't get back to them they will have me arrested ??!!!
Scam. from whatever department telling you will be arrested.
