I have just been contacted my Jasmine Wilson from Telstra - when I phoned back - John Wilson answered who then put me on to Jasmine Wilson - After giving her the reference no. She said my internet had been hacked, I obviously didn't believe her, she said if I logged on to my computer now she would show me where it was hacked... that's when the penny dropped. This is a scam!! Do not believe them.
We received a call from a very noisy call centre and the lady claiming her name was Mary from Telstra. She said that our internet was being cut off today and were we aware of this? She wanted us to access our computer while she was on the phone. She reluctantly gave this phone number as we said we would need to call her back. Telstra have confirmed this is a scam.
Someone from this number phoned claiming to be from Telstra and they needed to disconnect our internet for a time. They gave their name and ID number. We checked with Telstra who have confirmed it is a scam.
