    Didn't answer number as I didn't recognise it. It went to my voice mail and it was an American male automated voice telling me if I didn't return their call, they'd send out a warranty for my arrest.

    I just received an automated call from 02 8005 0475 and I was told that a legal case have been filed against me. It does not seem legit to me as I have been in the country just for about 1 month now and I do not remember any situation where someone will sue me.

    Hoax . Scam. Trying to scare people. B105 played it on the radio . It’s a computer voice saying something is getting filed under your name and it tells you to call them back or you will be arrested. They left me a voicemail.

    This is a scam.

    I received a computerized voice recorded message from this number.

    They say that they are from the Australian Tax Office & that there is a Lawsuit against you. They tell you to ring them back on their landline number & if you don't return their call they will issue an arrest warrant! Surely with technology these days they could track these people down and lock them up.

    Wouldn't start conversation until I gave them my name, claiming to be from ATO, saying I owed $5.000, warrant for my arrest etc... Confirmed this is a scam. Give them no details.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
