Received a Payment Advice from Zipmex Australia LL for $648.74. It was a very detailed email, had my full name, my address and other details that made it look legit.
The Support number was 02 8003 5739, which would seem to be the support number for many email scams, as well as cold call scams.
Scam, all the way, delete email.
Got an email with a PayPal payment notice which I have never did. At the end they left this number as contact support “if I have any questions”. They have my email and address make it looks real. Im happy I did search this number before calling.
New phishing/invoicing scam. Pretending to have signed me up for monthly $600 charge. This number provided to reach support. This is a scam, likely out of India.
There has been fraudulent activity involving Zipmex Australia LLC and PayPal, which raises concerns of financial scams related to this number!
A man called claiming to be from the Commonwealth Bank's fraud department. He told me he knew my card details and mentioned an unknown transaction via Google Pay. He requested the verification code sent to my phone and seemed frustrated when I refused, even swearing at me. I'm convinced this was a scam since legitimate representatives would never ask for such sensitive information.
A person calling from this number claimed to be with the fraud department of Commonwealth Bank. However, I could tell that this was a scam, and the caller was not associated with CBA at all.
