They called my grandfather and told him he was owed $6000 and they could send him a cheque. Total scam.
Got a call today telling me that the Fed Government was directing my bank to repay me $6325 in illegal bank costs and charges. Asked me how I wanted to be paid. I said send me a cheque. Gave me this number to call. They confirmed my payment and and asked did I know why I was receiving this money. I asked them to give me the details of my account. They hung up.
I just had a call from this number, wanting to refund $6325 that the Federal Government owed me for bank and utility charges over the past few years. They had my full name and address. I said they could send me a cheque then. The only thing I had to do was pay $250 for solicitors fees. I told them they could deduct it from the cheque, then hung up.
Called saying they are the fed goverment, telling me the ANZ owe me $6000 from over charges in the past.
Had a call from this number today telling to ring it to claim $6000 in overpaid fees!
This was a scam to get personal information and bank details.
