Understanding Phone Number (02) 7228 1102 - 0272281102
The phone number (02) 7228 1102 - 0272281102 has raised significant discussions among recent users, leading to a blend of opinions regarding its authenticity. Some callers assert that it pertains to legitimate inquiries, primarily from Amazon, while others vehemently claim it is linked to scams aimed at deceiving consumers.
From the user reviews, we can classify the responses to this number into two main buckets: legitimate calls and potential scams.
- Legitimate Calls: Users who had placed recent orders with Amazon reported receiving calls shortly after their purchase. These calls typically seemed to be verification calls, aiming to authenticate recent transactions, ensuring that users weren’t victims of fraud. Support for this classification is bolstered by reviews stating that the caller inquired about the gift card purchases without requesting sensitive personal information.
- Scam Calls: Conversely, many users highlighted the number as suspicious, mentioning that it called them without an order or that they experienced phishing attempts where personal data, such as credit card information, was solicited. Users also pointed out oddities like late-night calls, Indian accents, and requests for validation details that would understandably raise red flags.
This duality indicates that while some interactions may be legitimate responses linked closely to user purchases, numerous reports suggest that the number is indeed being exploited for fraudulent activities. It’s also further complicated by factors like the timing of calls and the lack of usual confirmation emails from Amazon, which typically validate orders.
How to Handle Calls from (02) 7228 1102 - 0272281102:
- If you recently made an order from Amazon, be cautious but consider answering the call, as it could be a legitimate confirmation.
- If you haven’t made a recent purchase or receive a call at an odd hour, it's best to ignore it and block the number.
- Never provide personal information or payment details over the phone unless you are sure of the caller's identity.
- Consider using a service like Reverseau for additional insights on who called you in Australia, which may help clarify the legitimacy of similar calls in the future.
In conclusion, (02) 7228 1102 - 0272281102 stands as an emblem of confusion, capturing the liminality between genuine interactions and scams. Increased vigilance and reliance on verified information sources can aid you in identifying and dealing with such calls effectively.

I ordered an Amazon gift card and maybe 5-10mins later got a call from this number. Asking if they are speaking me to (the account holder) and to check if I purchased an Amazon gift card recently for x amount of dollars.
Seems to be legit, they had my name and number, knew the amount the gift card was for and the call was like I said, only 5-10mins after purchasing it.
The only thing they asked about it is what is the gift card for (guessing to make sure I wasn't getting scammed as it was being sent via email to someone else, bday gift)
And that was it, since the order hasn't even be processed yet since I pre-ordered it, have to say it is legit.
But I can see why people would think it is a scam call.
They were ringing to confirm that I had placed an order for a gift card (which I had 10 minutes earlier) and wanted me to confirm that I was not a victim of fraud.
This number is affiliated with Suncorp's HR department and is part of the recruitment process for new employees. It is a legitimate call.
I believe this is a scam caller. I have not ordered anything from Amazon, which makes this call highly suspicious.
They have just called me 3 times in a row 9.51 pm,9.53 pm,9.54 pm, I have since switched my phone off. Despite being on the 'do not cal' list, no-one should be calling me at this time of night anyway!
I received five calls from this number without answering. I've seen mixed reports about it online—half of the users say it's a legitimate call, while others claim it's a scam. Additionally, I received an email supposedly from Amazon around the same time.
Didn't answer but looked up on here, I also had just changed an address for an Amazon order as someone below mentions so it seems legit.
I received a legitimate call from Amazon verifying my delivery address to ensure my order would arrive correctly.
I had serious doubts with the caller. They sounded like they were WFH and had an Indian accent. All they asked was my name and if I bought a computer graphic card from Amazon for the advertised price. I was eating so I responded with grunts of yes. Just after the call, I had my card debited by Amazon. Well, I'll be..
As an update to this, I just spoke with Amazon, who said that they did not make that phone call. So it appears as others have mentioned, that this is a phishing/scam number and best to just hang up or ignore/block.
This appears to be Amazon. I purchased a gift card, which hadn't yet come through. Then they rang me from this number about 30 minutes later to confirm I had purchased it. Once I confirmed that the Card came through. They didn't ask me any personal questions.
The caller claimed to be from Amazon, but I’m uncertain if this is a legitimate call or a potential scam.
I received a call from this number shortly after placing an order with Amazon through Klarna, well after 10 PM. I found it suspicious since I didn't receive any emails confirming my order, so I decided to block the number as it seemed like a scam!
I received a call from Amazon shortly after making a large purchase online, even though I haven’t used Amazon in over two years. They called to confirm a change of address, and I didn’t initially answer because I was unsure. Based on what others mentioned, they did not request any credit card details, though the situation still sounded a bit suspicious.
This call was legitimate. They contacted me because I had made a relatively high-value purchase (a four-figure amount). They were verifying the order amount for security reasons. After the call, I confirmed in my Amazon account that the order was processed as they mentioned, indicating it was a part of their anti-fraud measures.
It’s a scam call. Amazon would never call you to confirm a purchase. I’ve contacted Amazon and they said it wasn’t them either.

This is just a verification call from Amazon to make sure that account holder has authorised the order/payment for an order. Not a scam call.

The Indian guy said that I needed confirm your address and place the parcel for you. I confirmed. Few hours later I called AMAZON and the customer service told me it’s a scam and they never call their customers to confirm the address.
