I just got this voice message a while back. I didn't call back.
This exactly happened to me in a few minutes ago as well.
Avoid leaving any running Banking Apps, particularly you need to log off, if possible clear apps caches from your mobiles.
You missed a call from 0261761255, who said "We want you or your lawyer to call us back before you face police officer at your doorstep or at your place of employment. We want you to return." This message was provided by Telstra at no charge to you.
They said they are from the tax ATO and that there was extra tax return you still need to get. They then proceed to say there was an error placing the money over and that they need your card details.
I immediately hung up then.
Last 30 minutes, relentless constant calling then stopped. They have moved onwards to you now... The caller is probably having LOL moments reading these comments.
I had a call too and the same sort of pitch was used. They insisted that I am in big trouble and the call is being recorded. I hang up and went on ATO's website, rang them and reported the incident. No contact was done from their side, definataly a fraud.
