Twice now I have received messages on my voice mail claiming to be from the C'wlth DPP telling me to ring them about tax fraud allegedly committed by me. The caller is male with what sounds like an American accent. The message sounds to be recorded and generic, it does not make any reference to my name, tax file number or even gender, it is fishing for a reply. This is definitely a scam. Do not respond.

Received a call asking me to call the number 61452247 claiming they were from the ATO and that I had a debt of $4000 and an hour to ring them back. When I called them back the information they had for me was out of date as I had moved 6 years ago and changed my name back to my married name. When I asked them to tell me my tax file number so I could be sure it was the tax office they hung up. I can see on the internet I am not the only one these people have attempted to scam. I have reported it to the ACCC and also the AFP. The owner of this number must be investigated and the number shut down.

Received call from guy (voice sounded like it was taped) from tax office claiming a fraudulent tax evasion on my part.

THIS IS A DEFINITE SCAM.

DO NOT RING OR REPLY IN ANY WAY AS THEY WILL THEN BE AWARE THAT THE NUMBER THEY RANG IS A LEGIT NUMBER AND CONTINUE TO CALL.

Do what I did, ignore this phone call and call your telecommunications Ombudsman.
