Caller left message on my answering machine stating I had committed tax fraud and evasion and that I needed to phone this number straight back - when I phoned the number it was disconnected. The caller stated a reference number which I didn't take down. The caller stated I had committed a serious offence and that action would be taken against me through the courts. The caller also stated he was from the ATO however failed to leave his name, that's when I realised it was scam! I phoned the ATO and they put a note on my file regarding the call.

Scammer who needs to be hunted down, and fitted with concrete slippers.

I just got the same call, he didn't leave a name saying they have a warrant for my arrest and a police officer will be coming around. These.

People should not be allowed to get away with this.

I received a message on my landline from Jason O'Connor stating a lawsuit has been lodged against my name and the police would be calling round to deliver an arrest warrant. When I called the number back it did not connect. Looked his name up on Google and was amazed at the number of hits. If he calls you, hang up.

I have received the exact same call a number of days in a row. What a pest! I feel sorry for older people who might not realize this is obviously a scam.

I received a call from this number from a Jason O Connor with them claiming to be from the ATO and that they had a warrant out for my arrest for tax evasion and to call this number. It is a HOAX. Have reported it to the police and the real ATO who are looking into it.

Obvious scammer. Same Tax office story as the others above on same number. Tried to call back. It's not connecting. Report the number to Optus or whoever your carrier is. It's on offence to use a telecommunications service to menace or harass.. A Commonwealth Crimes Act offence. Report him to the AFP in your local state.

Just got the same call. Very hard to understand. Something about tax evasion and a warrant for my arrest. How does he get away with this. Not impressed.

I've just had a message left on answer phone, strong Indian accent, some Jason or other from the ATO, saying a warrant had been issued for my arrest for tax evasion and I could expect a police officer at my front door. This is the second time he has left a message. I checked the phone number he left and saw I am not the only one to receive such calls. People like this need to be arrested themselves. There must be something someone can do!

Jason Aqualor (or 'O'Connor' pronounced with a thick Indian accent), supposedly from the ATO, threatened that there was a law suit filed against me for tax evasion and that I could expect a police officer to appear at my door and instructed me to ring 0261403490, after which, he thanked me and adjured me to have a wonderful day.

This clown rang my landline saying he was from ato I was going to be arrested. Knew it was a scam so I asked for his phone number and I would ring him back. Blocked my mobile number and launched into an expletive laden rant, after7.45 mins he hung up. Thoroughly recommend this, very therapeutic!! Another serve coming his way tomorrow. His name was David Orton.

Why cannot Telstra or Optus shut these barstards down. He is very convincing... Jason OÇonnor sounds like a fool and needs to be shut down.. Who do we complain to to piss him off and send him home.

Phone call left on my message bank this afternoon. Name of Jason and leaving the above number etc etc. I am tempted to ring back and say what happens to liars and thieves from a Biblical viewpoint ;o) !!

Had a recorded message on my answering machine left this morning, Monday 29 June 2014 advising to ring 02 6140 3490 as I was going to be arrested for tax evasion and I should ring this number if I was concerned for my safety. Foreign accent (possibly Indian) and ironically, my niece had just finished informing me that she had a phone call advising the same. In panic she rang ATO and there was nothing pending for her and her tax was all clear. In addition, ATO advised her they do not do business that way.

I know that I do not have a problem or outstanding debt with ATO so certainly was not panicked or scared into ringing the number left.

PLEASE somebody do something to stop this form of bullying and harassment as it has become quite rife going on the messages left on the site that comes up when punching this phone number into Google.

Got a call from this scumbag claiming to be a representative of the Taxation office this afternoon, When I questioned on his reason for his call and if was a genuine one he became evasive, Than disconnected the call.

Received a voicemail today freom Jason O'Connor, a dodgy Indian sounding voice. When I returned his call he answered Äustralian Taxation office"and when I asked HIM to confirm HIS identity, as I expressed concern that he was not ATO, he hung up. Oh yes, he also told me I'd receive a warrant for my arrest shortly. Someone catch this criminal before too many people pay him money!!!!

Got left a crazy message from some idiot saying we owe the A.T.O. money and they will be sending the police around for arrest. As if that would happen. I presume they want to scare somebody, and probably want you to deposit money in some bank account. Please ignore, A.T.O certainly do not do business over the phone like that. Why can"t phone companies block these numbers.

The assholes just phoned me and when I called back the number was engaged and when I call the second time it rang then it answered and went dead.

From a guy with a strong accent, most likely Mexican. Said his name was Jason O'Connor, that we had a warrant for an arrest (didn't even say who it was for) and that the police will contact us if we didn't return his call on 0261403490.

My Dad called that number and the guy on the end of the line said he was back until Friday, (he literally just left a message...??). Total scam.

Had the call from Jason O'Connor. Convinced it is a scam, but miss the point of it. Only thing I can think of is that they will ask for money to avoid the "prosecution".

We just had that phone call too, Indian sounding male voice, also from the Australian Tax Office. His name Jason O'Connor. I was told I have a tax evasion problem and the police would be calling at my home with a warrant unless I called him back.

He did, however, finish off his message with "Thank you and have a nice day " !!!!

This number (02) 6140 3490 called and left a message on our answering machine saying that they were from the Australian Taxation Office and that there was a problem where a police would approach us and issue a warrant for my arrest if I didn't pay money (?)(we didn't hear what exactly they said) it was a man who was either American or from the Middle East he then said to call that number, repeated that he was from the ATO and then repeated his number.

Needless to say we didn't call him back, and have had no further calls. (This was yesterday).
