Had a call from 0261403475 Fake Ato scammer Jason O'connor.

Rang on the 2/10/15 claiming to be from the ATO and said legal action was being taken against me and a warrant would be issued for my arrest.

There was a message left on my phone saying it was the ATO and that they were calling because of tax evasion and the police would be coming to see me unless I called back.

I am a Tax Agent and we have had a number of clients and staff who received this phone call, except the last one was from Ben. Same message. The ATO does not make telephone calls like this, if they are trying to collect money they do not threaten as these people are doing. One client was told that the debt was from a few years ago and started out at approximately (and he did not know what the original balance was) but it had grown to approx. $2.000 - again he did not seem to know how much was apparently outstanding. With the ATO it is impossible for a debt to grow from $100 to $2.000 no matter how many years back it goes. It is clearly a scam, DO NOT OFFER TO PAY - which is what they are after.

Had a missed call from this number 1.45 pm 30/09/2015, so I returned the call. Firstly the man answered "hello" then I said "oh I just had a call from this number" he says "oh its about a loan application" I say "really" he says "oh, I'm sorry mam it's about tax evasion" I just laughed and said he's a scammer and that I was reporting him!

Had a missed call from a Jason O'Connor if the ATO advising the local police would arrive to my residence and issue a warrant for my arrest for tax evasion.

I knew it would be a scam as they did not advise who they were calling for and they advised the "local" police from my district, no mention of said district.

I rang back to fish for info before I phoned the real ATO - the phone rang and caller answered the phone with "hello".. did not address them selves it identify the organisation I was calling from, I had to ask and he advised the ATO - he stated I had received the call because if unpaid taxes, when I advise all our taxes were paid he said it was an amount that was "missed" and I could be settled the debt today if I provided my details!

I said I wasn't going to give my info and he got stroppy, said it was my prerogative (you don't use that word in customer service EVER unless you're meaning to come across like a jackass!).

Once I advised I was going to make some further calls before I release any information be became more irritated and rude so I hung up!

Tried to call the real ATO and they have unexpectedly large wait times to report a scam and disconnected my call! Onya ATO!

Going to record the message left on my answering machine and send it to the media!

Threatening message from someone claiming to be from the Taxation Office. If I don't call back a police officer will come to my residence and issue an arrest warrant.

PLEASE discontinue this number.

Just had phone call from a Jason O'Conner who claimed to be from the Australian tax Office, he said the police would arrest me for tax evasion, and to ring 0261403475, I don't work and haven't for 3 years and am not on a pension as my partner provides for me. Just read the other reviews so now I am aware this is a scam.

Just left a message from supposedly ATO - Jason O'Connor - phone No.02 6140 3475. Something to do with tax evasion - avoid arrest by ringing back. I haven't worked for 8 years and am on an Age Pension. Obviously a scam. (By the way the voice was accented).

Received a call 13:35 28/09/15. Claimed to be an "automated message" from the ATO, Australian Taxation Office. Guy claimed his name was Jason Summers. I hung up once he got to "the purpose of this call"... Clearly a scam. I wish businesses could block these calls!!

Called to day 28-09-2105 11:45am.

Left a message on my answer machine.

Claimed to be The Australian Tax Office.

Said that a police officer was about to call and deliver a summons. Said I must call this number to prevent going to court.

Definitely non-Australian.

This is a terrible thing to have happening. Surely there is something that can be done to stop these sort of people preying on vulnerable people.
