Jason O'Çonnor saying he was from the ATO and with strong foreign accent left a message this morning 14 July 2015 on my mobile and another on my home phone. The caller's phone number was blocked but the same type of spam spiel was given. It was a general message directed to the user of those phone numbers. He did not address anyone by name. He was informing me that I was found to be evading tax by the ATO and a warrant was being taken out at the Commonwealth Court House for my arrest by the police. He would be able to assist before the police arrived to arrest me and I should telephone him on 02 61403445. I am commenting to confirm the spam and the new telephone number 02 61403445.
Got a call today from 02 61403480 being Jason O Connor from ATO with a very thick accent for tax evasion and that the police would be knocking at our door. Very frightening if you were elderly I would think. Anyway, knew it was a scam and he is scum!
I just played this guy out by giving him a false name, false accent (I'm an actor) and sucked him for everything by sounding genuinely perturbed and I would do anything to avoid a tax penalty. Then the clincher came - I said "April Fools" and hung up. What officer from the ATOP would NOT know my real name?

Friday 19/06/15 Just received a message from Jason O'Connor on answering machine. Apparently ringing from the ATO re Tax avoidance. Little does Jason no that all my affairs are handled by an accountant. Maybe Jason should ring him.
I received two (2) messages on my machine from Jason O'Connor at the ATO - same gig - a penalty had been lodged and I was to call asap. I did call and a fellow with a thick foreign accent got quite irate and swore at me.... But didn't ask for any personal details.
Got a call yesterday 16th from 6140 3411 telling me that we are under investagation about non payment off tax and that our house was under survalence (which made us laugh) and was to ring the above number to avoid more trouble got to be a scam.
I received a message on my answering machine this morning. The message said "The reason you are getting a call from our department is because we have identified some error in you tax obligation and we are on the verge of filing a petition against your name." It went on about legal action and finished with "Please give us a call back on our hotline number 02 6140 3471 and we shall be happy to help you." I had my suspicions, googled the phone number and found this website. I will be deleting the message immediately. Thank you for this website!
Just received a message on my phone from this number stating that I was having a Petition against my name and this was a message was a tax obligation. I rang the above number and they answered as the Tax office and I sated that I have received a message from this number and he told me to wait a minute and then he hung up. I will be reporting it to Telstra becasue I believe it is Spam.
This number rang me. He said his name was keith anderson and he was from ato and I was being charged for fraud on my tax. Funny thing was I wasn't even working then. He was very aggressive in his approach and used all legal terms. He said they will take my house, car, wages to cover the costs. When I said I needed to talk to my tax agent he hung up.
Man with a VERY foreign accent left a message on the answering machine today. His accent was so thick that I missed the beginning of the message which was just garbled, only becoming clearer when he went on to say that legal action was being taken against 'my name'!

Got a call today saying I owe ato money from 2009-2013 $5908 was then told warrant was out for my arrest well let them come get me then..
Called my home number claiming to be ATO saying they were going to take action against me and wanted money to sort it out "officer danny " at the ATO he claimed to be. All very suspect I think as he did not know my name or any details about me he wanted me to provide the information to him. Think the real taxation dept. Knows enough about me .

Received a garbled message by a man saying something about the ATO and being uploaded to somesort of database, and to call him on this number before this happens. Seems like a scam to me.

Just had a call from a guy saying he was from the ATO and that before they commence legal proceedings against me I should call them. I called back and a young guys answered the phone with "Australian Tax Office?" (of course he had an Indian sounding accent), I told him I was returning a call from this number and he told me they were closed and to call back Monday???? The ATO is closed on Friday afternoons??? SCAM.

Received phone call from telephone number 61403471 - male on the othe end stated that he was from the Australian Taxation Office. The male further stated that I had a criminal record and they were sending Maitland Police around to question me. I infomred Maitland Police about the phone call to which they called a short time later. Maitland Police called me back and confirmeds that the number is a scam.
These people threaten you and your family if you do not pay your outstanding tax debts. Please do not give them any information. They are not the Aust Tax Ofrfice.
Claiming to be ATO and wanted name address phone numbers and TFN when I refused they hung up... So I called the ATO and there was no record of them calling me.... So big scam don't give any details out....
Scam is related to this number 02 6152 8675 ([link] the beginning of the voicemail, the first bit was cut off. Not at any time was my name mentioned nor the caller. He advised of a "pending action from a Commonwealth body and my organisation would be able to help if you call this number".
This is ridiculous and should be stopped.
