This call was from scammers pretending to be from Microsoft, claiming that my computer was hacked. It seems likely that they were the ones causing the problems in order to charge my credit card. I reported this matter to my bank, which helped me avoid potential financial loss.

Got a call from this clown pretending to be from the ATO.

I chose option 1 and spoke to Agent Michael (ATO officials are not "agent" anything). He sounded Indian.

He said to clarify the matter he would need my full name. I asked him why, he called me so he should have my name already.

The bastard hung up on me......

This is a scam number purporting to be from the Australian Tax Office. Computer generated voice threatening to cancel tax file number which has been flagged for fraudulent activity. The ATO would never contact individuals in this way. Hung up immediately. Note: DO NOT SELECT ANY OF THE OPTIONS SUGGESTED BY THE ‘CALLER’.

I received a call from this number yesterday and today.. They told me there was a case of fraud in my name and an affidavit.. He said there were 13 charges against my name. Said his name was agent David Michael from the ATO. Sounded Indian. I rang the ATO yesterday, I don't owe them any money which I already knew!! I have them all the info that this David had given me.

When they called this morning I told them I had taken care of the debt because I had spoken to the actual ATO and they now have all their info and have a fraud case on them. He told me a state police officer would be contacting me, I hung up on him.
