Yes just got the same text message this afternoon. I checked this website and called them back. I told them I worked at the ATO and that they should stop this. They insulted me straight away and hang up on me! ;).
2nd time called me from same number listed here. Some moron in Canberra is sending this shit out, what is their purpose or gain, besides shitting people.
Report this number to the AFP as they are impersonating the ATO = Federal offence. They can trace number back through Telstra and beat the shit out of them.
What scum - rang today at 1:45 with a computer generated voice. Rang them back for a laugh. Apparently the ATO now hires them to chase outstanding taxes. But don't worry if you hand over your credit card they'll not continue with legal proceedings.
Just got 2 calls in a row from this number tried calling it back with no answer. No message left from it.

I have had repeat calls from this number as well. I am now enjoying repeatedly calling the number back and making the guy quiet frustrated. BTW I believe he is from Lithuania and not India.

I got a call few minutes ago from 0261003995. It's a pre-recorded message and looks like a SPAM to me .
Please advise how/where to report it ?
Below is the message:
"This message is from Australian Taxation Office calling for you. The issue at hand is extremely time sensitive. So the very second you receive this message I need you to leave your work aside and dial the number to the ATO Tax Crime Division. The number is 0261003995. Repeat. The number is 0261003995. This is Officer John Smith and I am working with ATO Tax Crime Division. Now, if you fail to return the call or in case if I don't hear from your attorney either, then the only thing which I can do is wish you a good luck as the situation unfolds on you.".
Same call at 10.30am they called yesterday also. What time do they call you?

John Smith from the ATO Crime Squad. The number they called from was 0261003995. I see that previously there have been similar reports on number - 02 6100 3008. Very suspect - especially when they use terms like "If you don't call back wish you the best of luck as the situation unfolds on you!"... scam call!
