The Spam Caller Image
Based on multiple user reviews spanning from May 2016 to January 2017, it appears that this number is associated with fraudulent practices. Commonly reported claims include offers from prominent Australian football clubs such as Essendon, Geelong, and Hawthorn, stating that if the recipient contributes a set amount (often $100 or more), they would be entered into prize draws. However, the emphasis on donations without concrete proof has led to a classification of this number as a scam.
- The Scam Mechanism: Many callers described a persuasive individual on the other end, often claiming that personal details were sourced legitimately from football club memberships. However, suspicions arise as numerous testimonials reveal that the same number apparently uses different club names depending on the recipient's location.
- Lack of Confirmations: A notable pattern is that many individuals received no follow-up communications or official confirmations after expressing interest, which deepens the mistrust surrounding this number.
- Tracking and Debunking: While some users mentioned that their past experiences with similar promotional offers turned out to be legitimate, the overwhelming sentiment is a cautious approach due to this particular number's dubious affiliations.
What Can You Do?

I actually bought a ticket book through a promo similar to this last year (representing Carlton FC.).
I bought the $100 book of vouchers and competition ticket and I received the voucher book and was all legit.
My prepaid mobile supposedly called this number and was used for 217 minutes. Absolutely no way did I call this number at any time. Suggest prepaid users keep an eye on how their usage to make sure this does not happen to you. It cost me $101 plus a few cents.
Received a call from a nice lady supposedly named Venice. She was offering me this great deal from Essendon FC in exchange for $100 (I chose 2x weekly installments of $50 each). I questioned her about how she knew all of my details (including address, DOB, Essendon membership details etc), which she said the footy club provided them and sounded legitimate. I asked for some proof that this company was real (I.e. email etc), but she said it was new so they didn't have anything to send me. However she reassured me that it was real, so I provided her with my card details (although not my three digit CCV on back) and she said on my bank statement will appear with 'Little Stars' whom the money is going to. Told my wise mother and she said to quickly call my bank to cancel my card. Guy from bank said even though I didn't provide her with my CCV, there's only so many variations that they can try to guess it. He also said that it happens to the best of us. Tried to call Ess Footy Club to see if they knew what this was and grill them about how this lady knew all of my details, but it was after office hours. How embarrassing, but lucky no money was taken from me and hopefully will deter others from signing up to this scam too.
Not a scam or spam. A lot of footy clubs will use the same marketing team which in this case seems to be in NSW. They're trying to raise money as all entities do. The most common reason they have your details is because the team you're a member of gave it to them which is all legal. Up to you if you want to participate.
Same thing as above. Assume it's Melbourne FC. They've outsourced this marketing to a company as have other football vlubs. Not a scam as I've haf a call similar to this a couple of years ago offering what the others are saying. Very annoying nonetheless.
Received call from this number again!!! No message left again.
Just had a phone call from this number offering me prizes if I go into a draw for the carlton football club. Wanted $100.. Australian voice, had an answer for why the 02 number.. Thought it was a scam.....
Received call on mobile phone - no message left.
Claimed to be from Hawthorn Football Club offering all these prizes and experiences if I donated $100.00. They also had my email address, so I asked them to email me the details of offer. They said they would email me the details, but never did. SCAM FOR SURE. Why would a Victorian Football club have a NSW phone number? Cause it's a SCAM !
Recieved call saying they are from geelong football club offering all these prizes and all that needed to be done was pay something like 128 for it. Assuming they look at your location and say that football club...
