A foreign man stated he was the senior legal officer for the ATO saying I avoided paying tax and they had a law suit against me if I refused they would take me to court have to pay $51.000, they called to the Police to remove me from my home, repossessing my home and car, when I questioned him he accused me of being aggressive and that the conversation was being recorded I hung up, and reported the scam to the real ATO it is now documented and the federal police have been called in.
Same as others. Said I owed tax and warrant issued if I diddid not pay. Told them where to go and hung up.
SCAM!!!
We are the ATO - You have a warrant for your arrest - you have an outstanding tax bill for "$XXXXX" You need to provide a lawyer or pay it now.
No offer of receipts or invoice, wanted to pick up vouchers at Coles/Woolies and claim the voucher numbers.
They originally said they would take a EFT payment to ATO account - when I asked for that option, they said "If you don't want to settle, that's OK, you will see the police in 30 min and then hung up"...
I have had more than that stollen from my yard and not had the police turn up in 2 weeks!!!
Same as previous.. Asian voice demanding you call them back about unreceived ATO submission and threatening your arrest. Completely false accusations. Scam.
Pretending to be the ATO, will threaten you into giving them money. Huge scam.
I had the same call on my message bank. This is a scam phone number. An Asian, most probably Chinese, trying to talk Ocker English warns you that you have had a letter sent to you that was returned undelivered, then saying that a warrant for your arrest is being sent, that you or your lawyer should then contact this number. Be wary. It is just a scam.
