This appears to be a scam re outstanding tax amounts.
Received a call on my land line which went to my answering machine. Didn't save the message but the modus operates of the caller was the threat of being arrested for taxation fraud. I rang the number back because they left a call back number. Wanted to know my name without identifying themselves. Clearly a SCAM so I had several days of fun calling them and harassing them just the same as they were attempting to do to me.
I received a call on our landline stating the same as everyone else there is a warrant out for my arrest for tax avoidance etc obviously a scam how stupid do they think people are now adays but it did sound very threatening.
They left a voice message on home line saying I have a warrant out for my arrest due to tax fraud/tax avoidance. That I need to contact them immediately or get my lawyer to do it.
Voicemail left on home phone advising of tax evasion and asking us or lawyer to call number back.

I just got a similar call from this number saying there is a warrant out for my arrest due to tax evasion. Guessing it is a scam.
This is a scam!! I called them back to advise them that I have contacted both the police and the ATO to report them and they hung up on me!
This scam they call me they say they are from ATO taxation office they investigate my tax return for the last 5 years and said there are false claim and it is intentionally done. Now the matters are in Court if I proceed a dispute in court I have to pay a legal fees.
They offer out of court settlement and if I would pay four thousand dollars. They would not ask for your bank details or credit card detail but they would ask you to buy store card and reveal the code to them.

Got the same scam call as the others- message left that I hadn't lodged a tax return and there would be a warrant for my arrest. They rang yesterday afternoon.
They threatened my wife with prosecution for tax evasion and left this number to call. I rang it and you could here the redirection dialing being scrambled. A person with a sub continental accent answered, I told them to take our number off their database and was hung up on.
