What Our Users Reviewed
Scammer pretending to be from Telstra.
A man called from 0258796458, speaking with barely intelligible English in a thick accent like Indian or a similar idiotic burbling abomination. He claimed to be from Telstra and had called me because they detected a problem with my computer and my Telstra internet. Strange, I have no Telstra internet and no computer connected to the internet! He told me he wanted to talk to me about the problem with my computer and my Telstra internet but then said nothing. After some few seconds silence he asked if I was still there, I said yes. He then repeated (from his scammers script I suppose) exactly what he'd already said and again went silent for some few seconds. He then asked if I could hear hear him, I said yes. Again he repeated the exact same script and then went silent for some few seconds. He then said Hello, to which I said what do you want from me? At that point he promptly hung up! If he says he wants to talk to me, why doesn't he, or should I instead just volunteer information to an inept scammer like this one? I received a similar call to this the previous day, I think this scammer group appears to use a variety of numbers in the range 02587964xx, though I'm not entirely sure about that. WARNING: Do not give these telephone scammers any details whatsoever, not your name or adrdress or DOB or account or bank details... NOTHING!!!
Same with me. They insist they from Telstra and want me to provide them with my IP address and when I said that if they send me an email from Telstra, I would call Telstra back, they kept on insisting that they could not do that and that if.
I wanted my internet to work then I had to use them. I said my internet was working fine and hung up!
This number has called twice in the last 5 minutes. When I answered the phone disconnects.
This is an unused or fake phone number that has been ported probably from a Telstra or Optus dormant phone data base number list.
