    I received a call from this number with an automated message stating I purchased something from eBay and that they will charge me $300. I do not have an eBay account. This is a scam caller and the number needs to be blocked.

    Just answered this call and someone from the commonwealth bank was saying someone tried to take $800 from my account in California. No transactions have been made, and the were trying to get details off me. They couldn't tell me which bank account it was coming out of.

    Scam. Do not give them information.

    Correction to previous post. I just missed a call from this number. It left a voicemail with some robo-message saying that they are from eBay and have charged me $$$ for some bogus purchase.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
