Common Characteristics of This Scam

  • Inquiry About Past Accidents: The calls generally start by asking if you’ve been involved in a traffic accident within the last couple of years, even if you haven't.
  • Confusing Communication: Many users reported difficulty understanding the caller's accent, which often adds to the uncertainty of the situation.
  • High-Pressure Tactics: Persistent dialing and immediate hang-ups once questioned indicate a scam operation trying to avoid allegations or scrutiny.
  • Unbelievable Offers: Callers promise compensation amounts that seem too good to be true, like thousands of dollars or pounds, adding to the red flags.

I just got this phone call from the same number yesterday. Indian man saying that I was just involved in an accident which was not my fault (I was in fact) and that I had a settlement amount owed to me of 5.000 GBP. (first flag... British Pounds owed to me?).

I told him I couldn't understand what he was saying (as not many people can understand what the hell Indians are saying over the phone) so he put me on to his "supervisor". Indian woman get's on the phone and goes through the same bullshite routine.

MIB website notes that there are indeed people making fraudulent claims on their behalf.

I want people like this found and shot immediately. Worthless scabs on society. If given the chance, I'd gladly pull the trigger myself. No sweat.

I got a call from this number as well. Indian guy asking me about an accident I had in the past 2 years and something about a $1.200 claim. I thought it was a wrong number and asked him who is he supposed to call, as in what is my name. There was a long pause, and then he hang up.

An Indian on this number contacted me 17/08/16 saying they are from the RTA and asking about a traffic accident I may or may not have been involved in. Sounds like some kind of Compensation Claim scam. Hung up when I told him I hadn't had any accidents.
