02 9258 7125 - This is definitely a call "on behalf" of PayPal, but I strongly suspect that they use a dodgy, outsourced, possibly unsafe, Indian third-party company to do so. I've had my account go into the negative three times in 5+ years, and each time I've had consistent, non-stop calls from random numbers. I've had up to SIXTEEN calls in one day. The next day it was 8, the next day around 12, etc. I answered the first time and the person on the phone was an absolute moron. Rude, aggressive, terrible English, demanded my details, etc, because apparently they can't start the transaction without "making sure" who they were speaking to for "security purposes." I asked them to prove who they were, and they couldn't tell me anything without first getting me to "prove my identity." I mean how bloody idiotic is that? I said they sound like scammers and I won't tell them anything. He becomes nasty. So I managed to get him to tell me exactly how much I owed, down to the cent, and when it was due. These details were actually 100% correct. Anyway I hung up on him, blocked the number and sorted the balance out in my account. The calls stopped once the balance was fixed. The next time my account went into the negative, the same barrage of harassing calls came, day and night. I again blocked the numbers and saw they immediately stopped once the balanced was corrected. Today was the third time. The calls (from yet another number) have started, and Googling the number lead me here. So dear reader, to answer the question: Is this a scam? Probably not. But is it PayPal calling directly? I don't believe so. Do these people have your information and are they taking payments on behalf of PayPal? Yes, I believe so. So is it safe? Probably bloody not, because they carry on like absolute muppets. And if you ask PayPal, they also agree that the numbers that call aren't from their official company. My advice? Answer if you want and have some unhinged fun pretending to be deaf/speak another language/on drugs/a dog, etc. Or just block them. But don't give them your details. Fix your account up yourself and be on your way. Stay safe, party people.

0485 857 449 - 0485857449 called and hung up. Assume scam number.
07 3023 4956 - I’m surprised this has been reported as a scam as it does belong to the Service Dept at the VW dealership in Kedron whose main number is 07 3023 4900.
03 9131 7600 - Received a call today but would not tell me who they were trying to contact or why as 'it was on the file'. They said they had emailed and when I asked what address they would only say the one on file - asked what mine was but as they had contacted me I asked him to tell me what they had used. Refused so obviously a scam.
1800 271 082 - Received an email saying I had subscribed to a Advance+ Protection Family plan for $179.99 which included a bill. Email address is monitoring@chennaitotirupaticarrental. Com customer support contact number is 1800 271 082.
03 9969 9601 - Just had a missed call. Rang back. Man answered and said call was about energy. I apologized but I have solar on…. And he muttered something and hung up. Rude if nothing else.
