What Our Users Reviewed
This dodgy number rang saying they were from NAB, but I reckon they're up to no good – definitely a fake!
Just received a text message from COMM_ALERT stating "Your One-Time Password is xxxxxx. Do NOT share this code. If you did NOT request it, please call 1800956476 immediately. I called the 1800 number, and they requested my details. I asked if they could send a message through the Commonwealth app. They instead sent a message via SMS. I asked for the message to be sent via the Commonwelath app again. He dismissed it. I hung up and called CBA. They confirmed it was a scam.
Scam alert! Do not call. I received message from NABau informing me about my recently updated secure code and asking me to call immediately if I did not change my secure code.
I was suspicious but played along. They have a full call-centre setup — you’re welcomed by an automated voice: “Welcome to NAB.”
You can press 1 for X,2 for Y, and so on. Eventually you’ll reach the scammer. They run a verification check by asking your name, address and DBO. If you want to try it for fun, call the number and give random names and addresses — they’ll carry on.
Eventually they ask for your net-banking ID and password to “reset your secure code.” Frustrate them with wrong IDs and passwords. After two failed attempts they’ll start to panic, and after the third they’ll abuse you. Sing a song and Hang up.
Got a dodgy text saying they’re from NAB, but the real NAB says I should call 1800 956 476 for a supposed voice ID update.
