Received a text from CommBank about a refund.
Turns out they had emailed me in September about a small refund to an old email address I used when I used to bank with them.
Checked it out, all LEGIT, and via Commbank website commbank.com.au/support.banking.customer-verification-services-team. Html verified what I needed to do.
This phone number is legitimate and associated with Commonwealth Bank. They called regarding a refund, but don't expect much—ours was only 1 cent.
No sure why I wasted time on believing the reviews stating it was a scam number, scammers making up scams for what reason!? The number is CBA, can be found on their website and when called has the same messaging as the 13 CommBank general number. My cheque was only for $20 however...

It could be part of the scamners tatics as I think they have wised up on people checking in these checking sites.

I would still report it in case, better to be safe than sorry, if is ligit no harm done, if not then its helped others and secirity to do their job and get'em.
And just to be sure your not missing out on funds (just in case its true) perhaps ring the "official" commbank number as in this case.
I have a feeling the scamers are trying to trick you here reiger, striebel and other or they rang that number and were told bs.
I've searched I "Can Not" find that that number belongs to commbank!
Just saying be careful ok and check, not just here. And check with business and their actual numbers.
If is a scam, it is concerning because they are starting to use your name as they did mine, if they get it somehow too.

Received text regarding not replying to communication they sent in regard to a refund. I believe this to be a scam.
I received a message from what appeared to be Commbank. To verify its authenticity, I checked the phone number on the official Commbank website and then called them back. I mentioned that I was expecting a cheque due to an error that happened prior to 2008, which I believe may relate to this call.
This is a legitimate number associated with the Commonwealth Bank.
I received an email requesting me to call the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) regarding a cheque that was sent to me back in 2019, which I did not receive since I had moved. Now in 2023, I contacted the number provided and spoke with Anthony from CBA's Remediation Department, which handles audits on unbanked cheques sent to clients.
