I just got a call from this number saying I have a computer or laptop connected to my internet and they needed me to check something so I asked for his name and telephone number and this is what he gave me, his name Leon and phone number 1800750612... I said I’ll call back!!!
Just had an identical type call from someone who said her name was Merlin Dell, or something like that. She also said she was ringing from Telstra about my router and from phone number 1800750612. She didnr get very far as I asked for her number pretty mush straight away and said I would call her back.
So this cold call came in, from apparently Telstra Technical Department, Sounded from India.1800 750 612.
They claimed that my internet settings had been changed from Private to Public.
They wanted me to type in eventwr into my Windows Browser and hit OK!
I asked for some verification: They provided me the following details.
1800 750 612.
Victor Smith.
Telstra Employer ID: 00103.
Technical Department.
I asked for him to provide me some details to verify who he was, he keep saying that as soon as I entered EVENTVWR everything would be explained.
Once again, I asked for him to verify that he worked for Telstra by sending me an email, he then said he was ending the call as I was wasting his time.
Oh well, I guess I will never know what he wanted.
I did keep him on the phone for about 15 minutes.
Oh by the way, their was rooster noises in the back ground.
At least this was 15 minutes that he wasn't annoying somebody else.
