So this bloke calls claiming there's an issue with my internet, saying he's from Telstra HQ in Melbourne. I mean, come on! I asked what it’s like working there and then when I pushed for a contact number, he hands me this one. You'd reckon they’d ditch this number after all the complaints!

Something needs to be done to combat these scams. As a 71-year-old, I found the experience frightening, but thankfully I was cautious enough to look up the phone number. Many people may not know to do this, and we need better measures to stop these fraudulent activities.

Had a call from 0419006562. Indian guy wanting to upgrade my National Broadband Network. Told him directly it’s a scam. He said it was good that I was wary, and therefore I would not get scammed. Hahaha. I asked him if he knew my name. He didn’t. I asked him for a phone number to call back on, he gave me 1800687626. Needless to say I am not calling back.

Got a call from a number but they gave me the number 1800687626 claiming to be from the National Broadband Network co and said we have a problem with our National Broadband Network in the area, our company does not use the National Broadband Network and we had no issues, thought it might be a scam, as they wanted to know how many landlines we had and how many mobile phones we had, also wanted to send us an envelope, the whole call was weird.
