Please note, the number of the sender is not shown. I searched for who David Thomas is, I found there are quit few high-profile individuals carrying this name including Australia high court lawer and British singer and songwriter.

I received a text message that falsely claimed a transfer has been made and instructed me to call this number to either stop or dispute the payment. The message pretended to be from Australian PayPal, which made it seem more convincing.
I received a text message from what appeared to be "AU-PAYPAL" on September 28 at 4:48 stating, "You have sent 1700.00AUD to Intellect Info Systems LLC on 22/09/28, UID#8711037YT289. For Dispute or to stop Payment, Dial +61 - 1800 531 779 Immediately." Upon verifying with PayPal directly (using their official number, not the one in the message), I confirmed this was indeed a spam message.
