Had a call today and the number displayed was (02) 2566 9312. She sounded like someone from an overseas call center. She claimed to be Sophia Jones Ref # D180064 from the telstra call center in Melbourne, I asked her why she was ringing from a NSW number!!! She wouldn't answer that. She said a high volume of viruses were attached to our email/internet and they would disconnect it in 2 hours if we didn't fix it. I told her she was a scammer & I didn't believe a word seeing as our internet was not through telstra. She became very aggressive & said if she was a scammer why didn't she just hang up, I asked her well you tell me what your still doing on the line!!! She said I need to ring 8524 7968 0323 and when I told her that's not even a phone number she gave me 1800 367 368. I asked her why would I need to call that & she said to stop the internet being disconnected and then asked would I be calling back today or tomorrow. When I told her to get her story right as she told me it would be disconnected in 2 hours not in 2 days she hung up!!! I rang our internet provider and they confirmed it was a scam!
Have just had a phone call from a woman claiming to be from Telstra saying that our internet was open to the world and bad people were hacking us. When I said our internet service was with Optus, so why weren't they ringing, she said that only Telstra was allowed to utilise 'CLS' numbers. I asked for a number and she gave me this one. Sounded completely dodgy so I thanked her and hung up.

Said his name was Peter and he was from Telstra Technical Department (noise behind him was obviously a call centre).
Said that he had feedback indicating that our internet is being hacked and that he needed me to log onto the computor and it would only take him 5 minutes to work through the problem with me.

Told him I would ring Telstra back to sort it out.
Received call from this number saying we have virus, slow internet with Telstra. And Telstra is australia wide so this is legit. She gave name, refence number and this return number when I questioned her. D for dodgie scam.
An Indian "Ethan Williams" from Telstra called today on a Private number about a malicious virus being sent from my computer. Quizzed him, and asked if I could call him back later at his department once I was free to assist. Gave me the number 1800 367 368 to contact him back. Scam.
Caller identified himself as peter watson from telstra D99745. He was persistent arrogant and pushy. Brought my daughter to tears. If he is legit he needs to be managed by his employer.
WE received a call from this number saying he was from Telstra and his name was Alex Martin D200139 1800 367 368 He was wanting me to get into our computer, It sounded very dodgy.
I had a call from this number, caller said he was from Telstra. He wanted me to go to my computer, no doubt to try to get my info. I hung up.
