This is definitely a number used by Macquarie bank. I was contacted by Macquarie today by email and SMS and asked to contact them using this number. I verified the contact using another Macquarie number available on their website. It is not a scam number.
7/02/2019 6:30PM LOCAL TIME: first received a call from a woman requesting to speak with me about a Macquarie bank account that I may or may not know about or have? Let me tell the readers here that I would know about this if I had such a bank account....
I was in the middle of work and said hey lady why don't you call me back in an hour and I can talk to you im real busy at work now (was in a meeting).
She said she would but of course never did....
Two days later a man claiming to be from macquarie bank calls and says he knows his colleage has been busy and didn't call me back but that he wants to talk to me about fraudulent activity on my Macquarie bank account.... I called him out as a scam and he said he would email to my gmail but never did.... BEWARE OF SCAMMERS THEY ARE OUT THERE..... Used either 1800 134 321 & +61 7 3233 8193 do not call them back they clock up OS call rates on your mobile and take the money and run...... Linked with south africa scam reported by Oz Federal Police before Xmas.
