What Our Users Reviewed
Please check this number and shut it down if it is a Spam. It says it is Windows Support Technical Number and a whole heap of people who sound like Indians are answering the phone. Please check.
I also received a message displayed on my screen that my laptop was at risk and that I should call Windows Certified Tech Support right away on 1-800-031-032 TOll Free.
I called and asked if this was a genuine message and the Tech guy said that it was and that my call was recorded and any support given would be recorded as well. While on the phone, I did a quick check on another browser and saw these comments. I engaged the call and called Telstra who have confirmed that it is a spam message.
This number came up on my PC and said not to shut it down as my financial information could be at risk. Said it was from Microsoft Technician and that Telstra Internet has detected suspicious activity from my IP address. My PC is frozen.
Received message on browser Microsoft Edge with a hacking warning. This has disabled my browser and I cannot get rid of it. Microsoft Edge now not working.
I was suspicious but rang the number just to see. 'Neil' was very concerned for me and asked a few questions - seemed harmless, however when he said he'd put me through to a Microsoft technician who would access my computer to correct, at no cost, I put him on hold, opened another browser and checked all my files. No problems so I then went back to swarmy Neil and said he was a scammer. I've reported the scam to Scamwatch. Com and suggest everyone reports the scam too - don't just fix it and chalk it up to experience. PLEASE REPORT. Now I have to get rid of the bloody thing.
Any help here would be great.
Thanks,
Judith.
