This number is legit. It is a division of the Office of State Revenue, State Penalties Enforcement Registry QLD, they are responsible for collecting and paying debts with relation to victims of crime. They will call from a private number.
I received a call from them and was suspect, I told the lady I thought she was a scammer and asked for the return phone number and case number, which she gave to me. As I wasn't aware of money owed to me. I did some Google searching and found the website for the division and emailed them with the case number and phone number and they confirmed with was legit. The funds owed to me were from a crime over 20years ago and the money was then paid.
So if you receive a call stating the above, ask for the phone number and reference number and do your own searching and you might just find you are owed some money.

The number is for SPER. I had the same call. It's in regards to victims of crime where the offenders have been through the court system and money has been recovered from them. In my case my house was broken into and they were caught 12mths later.
I had a call from Lucy at QLD Treasury wanting my details before she could verify my identity and confirm why she rang me, I said no, she suggested ringing this number to confirm my identity, there is no such number listed or known of by Qld Treasury.
