I am on call with Optus now as we speak 7/11/17 1pm Sydney time disputing this 1300 721 896 calls made from my home phone (31 calls) charged to my account when my home phone is not working for nearly a year.... ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS.
I just contacted Optus via their chat web page and explained the problem so they've barred the number from my account. We'll see what happens next month when I receive my account. I'll be keeping a strict eye on my accounts.
I've reported this number to Optus over the last two months because I keep getting charged for calls. They tell me it's probably an alarm system which I've never had. Optus needs to pull its finger out and do something proactive like blocking the number.
Just finished chatting to Optus via web. They didn't tell me I had and alarm.10 times I'm supposed to have called this number between 2 and 5pm. I told them that I checked this website and it was a scam. They are looking into it and I'm not paying for the calls.
Same here... Billed for this non-existent number 4 times in Aug 2017 and several more in previous months. I have no phone connected, no back to base alarm system. The customer service agent even tried blaming my doorbell - PATHETIC! And refused to put her supervisor on. I think Optus already know there is a problem. Will have to check the itemized bill next month and blow it up if they don't fix it.

Trying to get us upgrade plan by saying it will only cost $5 extra a month, f*k off im not paying that or these local calls that are going out that I'm not even making!
I have been billed for multiple calls to this number. Never made the calls. Optus says it's connected to an alarm system. Don't have an alarm connected. I phoned this number and it says it is disconnected.
We don't have a landline connected to our home broadband and this number has been appearing daily on our Optus bill for months now. Optus promise to investigate and fix this but it is wait and see for now.
I have diverted my phone to Telstra 2 moths ago and my Optus bill one in saying I made 25 calls to my this number, this couldn't be possible as my outbound calls are no longer with Optus. I called Optus and they advise they have no comment, they said the same to me, it might be an alam system, however we don't have an alam system.
I think this is a scam by Optus.
