This number is relentless! They keep texting me with the most ridiculous overdue bill amounts—every time it's a different figure. Total scammers!
The caller claimed that a payment to AGL had not been made and instructed me to call 1300 657 452 for more information. This could be a scam, so verify independently before calling back.
I received a message that states I am overdue with my AGL bill. I believe this message is definitely spam as I have no outstanding bills with them.
The call was indeed from AGL. I had set up a prepaid payment plan and accumulated a $900 credit. After I stopped the payments, I received a text message regarding this. I spent 45 frustrating minutes on the phone being told I needed to continue payments. Finally, I insisted they return my $900, and in exchange, I would agree to pay the $83 per fortnight rate moving forward.
It is now August 20, 2023, and both AGL and Telstra have not yet taken action to stop this ongoing scammer from making calls.
I received a similar call and when I tried to call back, they hung up on me. I checked my billing statements and everything is up to date. It’s disturbing how malicious some people can be.
I received both a call and a text message from this number impersonating AGL. I believe it to be a scam, so be cautious if you get any communications from them.
My wife received sms that her bill is over due.
So she has never had account with AGL.

Received an SMS from "AGLEnergy" on 12 July 2016 saying;.
"Reminder from ActewAGL. Your gas bill is overdue. Please pay $115.78 or call 1300 657 452 to discuss your options. Ref# is 977721499085788370.
This is a scam.
I got one of these SMS messages as well. Even choosing "View Details" in my messaging app shows it was from "AGLEnergy" (doing the same with an SMS from a known contact reveals the actual number, this didn't). Someone's gotten hold of a spoofer...
The full text of the message is:
"Reminder from ActewAGL. Your Gas bill is overdue. Please pay $163.80 or call 1300 657 452 to discuss your options. Ref# is [redacted: long string of numbers]".
All of the contact phone numbers on ActewAGL's website are 13 numbers, not 1300 numbers.
I'm about to report this to [link].
I got a text supposedly from ActewAGL saying that my gas bil is overdue and to call this number. I'm not even registered with that company nor do I pay any gas bill for where I live. After doing some research on Google I have deduced that this is a scam!
