SCAMMERS at it again! Almost got me the little shits!
Received a text saying 'your licence is due to be suspended on 15/01/26. To stop restrictions pay $109.00". I did in fact call the number they added to the text message and it sounded very like the voice recording when you call NSW Revenue!
Better luck next time scammers!

I received a scam text message despite not having traveled in New South Wales this century. The message used a legitimate phone number but directed me to a fraudulent website, claiming that my penalty will expire on 12/07/2024. It threatened me with additional fees for late processing and provided a dodgy link and a contact number.
A text was sent at 2:35 AM, urging the recipient to pay their fine promptly and provided a suspicious link, along with the official contact number for the state revenue department. The report emphasizes that it's unlikely for a government entity to communicate in such an urgent and casual manner.
I received a scam SMS this morning claiming to be from the NSW government, stating that I owe an overdue fine of $109.95. I want to warn others that this is undoubtedly a scam. I live in Queensland (QLD), not New South Wales (NSW), which makes these calls seem even more suspicious. The Australian government should take action and impose fines on these criminals.
Same BS text as other commenters here. Text received at 01:30 am, states:

The website link is to what they're trying to lead us to believe is an official NSW government fines payment website.
