I received a call from a person claiming to be from Commonwealth Bank. They mentioned that there was a fraudulent payment flagged on my account but did not provide any specific information. They left a number for me to call back.

The James that called me claimed to be from westpac, with a stopped payment. Caller id was anonymous.

C

A caller identified himself as James, asking to be connected to Accounts Receivable. He mentioned some payments related to NAB Connect. The line was of poor quality, so I requested a callback, and he provided this number: 1300 503 324. I will not be returning this call, as it raises concerns. Caution is advised for everyone!

The number called claiming to be from the Commonwealth Bank High Value Team. They requested to speak to someone regarding concerns about certain high-value payments that had a 'stop payment' placed on them. Since we have no such payments, we will not be returning the call.

B
Bick

Called our business claiming to be National Bank - asking for the director.

This number is definitely a scam. They pose a NAB Fraudulent Payments Team who want to help you avoid a scammer stealing money out of your account. To identify you properly, they will ask you for the number generated by the NAB Connect token. DO NOT PROVIDE THAT NUMBER to them, as they will then use it to sweep your account clean.

I asked a few questions of the caller to see how they were answered and they simply don't have access to the information to answer those questions correctly.

Our finance manager was called today and was told that some high value wire transfers were approved from our account. When she got suspicious of the caller and asked for a call back number was given this number. It is not our bank's fraud number and no other associations can be found. dodgy.
