Received a text message from a Private (hidden) number today (17/07/2024) at 10:04 am. No company name or personal name provided. Was asked to phone: 1300 082 541. Googling that number, I arrived here.

On closer inspection of Google, is seem to come from a Debt Collection Agency.

If it is a bona fide debit collector, being covert is ridiculous. Sending private sms with no identification, next to no one is going to return the call, because there are so many phone scams these days...

Got a text saying I owe Optus $2500. Called them and they are going to log a scam report. I owe them nothing.

As above, got a message saying I had a bill to pay for Optus. My phone is pre-paid so it's obviously a scam.

I got an SMS asking me to call this number or pay a certain sum via bpay for an Optus bill debt. As far as I know o have no debt with OPTUS or anyone else for that matter. Must be a scam.

I received a text asking me to call this number or alternatively pay 142$ to a bpay account for a virgin mobile debt. I have never had a virgin mobile account so don't know what this is about. I called the number, it made me wait for quite some time, busy... Operators are busy.. Then said, we are closed.
