My husband received an SMS late at night claiming it was regarding debt recovery for an accident. After researching the phone number, we found multiple reports indicating it as a scam. He has been receiving persistent calls about debt recovery for several weeks, so we checked with NRMA to see if our vehicles had any accident reports, which confirmed they did not.

This number initially sent me a suspicious link and then followed up with another message insisting I call regarding a debt for insurance. They already had my first and last name, so please don’t share your personal information!

I received a text message from the number 0439 455 875, claiming to be from Recoveries Corp. The message stated that I owed $4,500 to IAG and demanded payment as soon as possible. This was the first notification I received about such a debt, and there was no explanation provided. I strongly believe this is a scam, and I would recommend reporting Recoveries Corp to the ACCC for investigation.
