Asked for me by maiden name which I haven't used for 15 years. Thanks everyone for your warnings. I won't be calling back.
Have received a few calls from this number saying I owe tax, I know I don't as it's all done by my tax agent, they asked me to settle the account over the phone. Which I did not!!!!!
I had a call yesterday, they left a message saying they were the ATO, when I called the number it says they are Baycorp. I called Baycorps number(I got it from their website)and they said that the reference number I was given was not one of theirs and they could not find me on their system anywhere! I have also received a number of letters from 'Baycorp' but they are all different, no dates on them, the contact details and operating hours are different to the website.
Received 2 phone calls from this number so far, claiming to be Baycorp. Acting on behalf of the ATO. Wanted some info to verify who I am, gave them nothing. Check out with my accountant to verify what I already knew whats owing. I don't bother returning calls. Watch out for them on this number as well as 1300558829.
