    Alvin from Accident Investigation. Gave him what for, reported to Telstra, reported to Scamwatch. Now all we need is for someone in our Government to care enough that a) the number is closed down and b) this person is arrested.

    We are an investigations company.... They don't realise that when they make their phone calls! Same story on each line they called in on ... 'someone from this number was involved in an accident in the last 12 months' sound like an Asian call centre, by accent... Seriously, not very professional scammers!! They probably get a few panics amongst older members of the community... Need attention by autorities - not that they care about this stuff, they would rather conduct surveillance on us!!

    Interesting. I received a call on the mobile from 07 3063 6257 claiming to be Road Care UK and asking if I'd been in a road accident in the last 12 months. I returned the call and a recorded messaged asked if I wanted to be added to the "Do not call" list. Went through the process. Five minutes later I got a call on the landline from this number and let it go to message bank. They hung up so I returned the call and it was engaged. It was only when checking here that I noticed it is a similar scam. Obviously going through the Telstra phone list alphabetically.

    I was on the phone when this call came in on call waiting. It went to message bank. A female voice said "hello". a lot of noise in the background, then a hand up. Tried to call back to see who it was and the phone didn't even give a ring tone. Figure it is a scam call. BEWARE OF THIS NUMBER.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
