I received a scam call from someone claiming to be involved in a car accident that I have never had, falsely identifying themselves as "Papadum."
I recognized this as an insurance scam. The caller brought up a car accident I supposedly was involved in, to which I bluntly told them off and hung up.
A caller claimed to be from an insurance company and said they were investigating an alleged recent car accident involving me. As soon as I declined to provide any information, they hung up abruptly.
This is definitely a scam call. They claim that my car has been involved in an accident and they are from the insurance company handling the accident. When I immediately asked them which car was involved in the accident, they kept saying they couldn't hear what I was saying in their Indian-accented English.
I answered the call, but the line went dead after I picked up. When I tried to call back, I received a message indicating that the user was busy.
I answered a phone call, but there was complete silence on the other end. After that, I received two additional calls from the same number, which I chose not to answer. They also did not leave any voicemail messages.
