    Received call from this number multiple times. Call back and it is from eBay support. I hadn’t bought anything from eBay for a long time. I doubt it is from eBay support.

    Received a call. Thought it was scam and did not answer it. My phone box mailed me the transcript of the voice: "You missed a call from 0889986024, who said "$99.99 and the same will be debited from your account automatically. If you want to cancel this. Then press one or two claim for refund." This message was provided by Telstra at no charge to you.".

    Also my mobile phone provider automatically classified it as "spam".

    Number called, marked as Suspected Spam and then left a poorly automated call noting collection of money. Total and utter scam.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
