The phone number 08 8941 6700 has been reported as a scam linked to a dubious lottery and magazine subscription scheme. Here’s how to identify such calls and safely manage them.
The phone number 08 8941 6700 has raised significant concerns among users, primarily due to its connection to suspicious activities resembling a lottery scam and misleading magazine subscription offers. Our analysis, based on several user reports, classifies this number unequivocally as a scam.
Users have reported receiving calls indicating they had won a lottery, specifically suggesting a connection to the Australian Powerball. However, these claims have raised serious red flags as recipients were asked to pay a fee of $15.00 to claim their alleged winnings. Such requests for payment in order to access winnings are a classic hallmark of lottery scams designed to exploit vulnerable individuals.
In addition to the lottery claims, users highlighted an additional layer of deception involving complimentary gifts, such as a watch and free magazines. These offers often conceal ongoing subscription fees that appear on credit card statements, without transparent billing statements or prior approvals. This behaviour is typical of scams that aim to engage unsuspecting consumers into an ongoing financial commitment under false pretences.
If you receive a call from 08 8941 6700, it is advisable to hang up immediately and report the incident. Never provide personal information or make any payments, as this could lead to further fraud or financial loss. If you're tempted to stay informed and seek legitimacy about unknown numbers, consider using our services at Reverseau for a thorough and effective Reverse Phone Lookup Australia. Knowing “who called me Australia” can save you from potential pitfalls.

Adding to previous comment from Canada: They tell you that you get a free watch as a gift.3 magazines free plus, you pay for 3 other magazines all that they send you but you do not get a bill for them every week from the magazine people or anyone, it just comes off your credit card. Plus, you are also entered to win $80.000.00 in the lottery (which one?).
I live in Canada and have received a call from someone with this customer service number. I can not find their business (specifically) online anywhere. They said they are from the lottery and got my name and number as I am a prefered customer since I make my payments on time. I could not get a straight answer no matter what I asked. Now I got a notice that I need to put in my payment of $15.00 for my chance at the Australian Powerball. Cheque, money order, credit card. I can not find out who they are by their address either.
