This phone number called me yesterday pretending to be my bank. They said they had found fraudulent activity on my accounts and needed to shut them down and create new ones. In order to create the new bank accounts I had to transfer money to a mobile Pay ID.
The caller had a British accent and was quite professional and knew my name, email address, phone number, and other information that made me feel like he really was my bank. He even sent me an email and text message during the phone call that looked pretty legit as well. I only clicked on to the fact that it was a scam because a bank would never ask you to transfer money to an unrecognised mobile Pay ID - they would just lock down your cards/mobile banking instead.
