    I had miss call from them and had voice mail; You missed a call from 0881214392, who said "This is to inform you that your account has marked Lynn(?) for tax avoid Asian paperwork centre(?) registered address has also returned back and signed and undelivered for the." This message was provided by Telstra at no charge to you.

    I’ve called them back but the guy did not sounds like the officer from ATO. I’ve asked how can I trust you? Then he said police will nock on your door. I cannot help you, just informing. And hung up.

    Now I found other people have said they are a scammer. Glad that I didn’t give my information.

    This is a scammer pretending to be the Australian Tax Office. I called the number back and they asked for my details. I said I would not provide any details until they could confirm who they were and why they were calling me. They hung up!

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
