    This number is being used as part of the "Yes" scam where they contact you and try to get you to say the word "yes" which they record and use for fraudulent misrepresentation in larger identify theft scams. I had the call yesterday (after multiple missed calls from the number over the past few days), and although I tried to avoid answering any questions with "yes" as soon as I said it they hung up...

    I received a call from this number at 7:10pm claiming to be Vodafone technical support, they called me ma’am instead of my name and asked questions that needed a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer. When I asked again what they wanted he said they I had reported technical issues with my phone. I told him I wasn’t having and issues and hung up. I then tried calling the number back and got a message saying the number was not connected.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
