I received a phone call from 08-79247133 when I was in a crowded Opp shop with a lot of background noise. I had never had a mobile phone before was and I didn't know whether it was legit or not, but the caller had a foreign accent (possibly Indian) and he was still talking when I told him it was too noisy to hear what he was saying (which was true) and hung up.
I answered a call from this number. She said “hi is this (insert my full maiden name) I said yes and she hung up. Odd that they already knew my name and except all my accounts for things are in my married name.

The caller claimed to be from Telstra and wanted to discuss my internet connection. I informed him that I do not use Telstra and was busy. As I was trying to hang up, he insisted, "Listen to me please, Ma'am." I had to firmly decline due to my work commitments. The caller then raised his voice and repeated his insistence, which prompted me to hang up the phone.
The caller claimed to represent both Visa and MasterCard, stating that there were suspicious transactions related to my credit card. This was clearly a scam, especially since I received an identical call yesterday from the number (08) 7095 1545.
