    Received texts / sms (Mobile) from the above number recently. Message saying a close resident is leaving their local residence? (Southern States in "Oz?") The number is from Darwin and others believe central "NT"? Many scammers are from overseas but, local ones too? So how would they get personal numbers including SILENT? Possible electoral Roll? Mates in Canberra with "NO WORRIES MATE" communications / high profile TELCO connections? Organized crime scams with playful connections? Local Governmental services + public utilities? (THE LIST GOES ON?) Many fellow citizens from "Oz" are experiencing not only this number asking for apparent debts owed? Imposters claiming "TELCO, s?

    But other known scam type threats to intimidate / threaten our citizens? Should they actually get caught by a slip up / stuff up, then our entrusted "LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES" it maybe suggested will take care of the National problem? This comment "NOTED", > 12/2/22 (10;31 pm = AEST?)

    Thankyou for allowing peoples comments.

    SCAMMERS - Darwin caller location.

    Left recorded message with automated voice claiming a recent transaction was made on one of my accounts (rattled off random number) of an iPhone 13 on Amazon. I was to press 1 if I did not make the transaction.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
