This number supposedly from Adelaide called me twice today. A man knowing my name said he was from Optus. Later I received another call from this same number from a woman stating she was from Telstra. When I queried why she would be calling, she hung up fast.

DODGY!

Called up claiming to be from Microsoft about an IP Address - dodgy!

May have misheard but they appeared to have my first name which could have been pulled from a work email signature along with the number they dialled.

As entertainment, actively argued about IP routing - dodgy!

The caller, who had an accent, claimed to be calling from Telstra and stated that there was a problem with my internet service. I informed him that I am not a Telstra customer, but he insisted it didn’t matter because he had my computer's IP address showing a problem. I decided to hang up and block the number.
