I had the same experience Purported message from Microsoft that Computer was infected by Trojan virus. Rang number and spoke to Indian? Who directed me to perform certain procedures, said it was beyond his expertise and passed me to another Indian? Who said the computer was badly compromised and I would have to have an expert to deal with it and it would cost me. At this point I realised it was a scam and terminated the call.

This number just came through on FaceBook messaging: 'Your Computer is locked down [security invasion]... Do not shut down or restart... Call (08) 7160 3149...".

Supposedly from Microsoft Security, and accompanied by loud beeping / alarm sounds that one can't turn off.

Resolution: turned sound off and reset my FaceBook p/word, closed other FB page, and all cleared.
