The nature of these calls has raised a red flag, categorising this number firmly in the 'scam' zone.
Understanding the Scam
Based on user reports, particularly one from 21 November 2019, calls from 08 7130 3511 / 0871303511 typically begin with a representative claiming to be from a well-known financial entity, such as Visa or MasterCard. The individual introduces themselves (in this case, a person named Andrew) as someone who is addressing unauthorised use of the victim’s credit card. This sets the stage for leverage—fishing for personal information like the first six digits of a card number.
This type of scam falls under the 'phishing' category, where scam callers seek sensitive information through deceptive means. Legitimate financial institutions will never request your full card details over the phone, which makes this interaction particularly dubious. The story escalates with the involvement of a supposed 'manager', exhibiting a common tactic to lend credibility to the scam.

What Our Users Reviewed
Had a call from 61871303511. The first person said his name was Andrew and was calling about unauthorised usage of my Visa/MasterCard. Asked him which bank he was calling from and he said he was from Visa/MasterCard. Transferred me through to his manager Adam Fernandez who wanted the first 6 numbers of my card. Told him that he should have the numbers and to give me the last 4 numbers. Never attempted to verify who I was and hung up when I refused to give him the first 6 numbers of my card. Dodgy as they come!
