Don't trust them, scam call. Had a phone call from them on my mobile claiming to be from Commonwealth Bank, advising me about a potential fraudulent overseas transaction for $499, asking me if I'd authorised this payment. Looked like a landline call but the quality of the line wasn't that great, which made me suspicious. Once I said I hadn't authorised it, they said my data may have been compromised and asked questions about if I'd been logging on to my banking via public wifi, if I usually make overseas transactions etc. Questions that could almost sound like if they were the bank, they were trying to be helpful and work out how you could've been compromised (though I'm sure the bank would know if I usually made overseas transactions). Had a couple of questions, to which I said no. They asked again if I'd authorised the transaction (when I first asked who it was to, they just said an overseas transaction), when I said no, they then put me through to their "supervisor" so the transaction could be reversed. He asked some more questions like when I last checked my transactions and if I usually do my banking via computer or phone/app, when I asked if that mattered, he said yes, and then asked about if I had a VPN (and then asked why I had one). At one point he asked if I had any questions so far, so I asked again who the payment was going to and he advised Peter Collins in the US. He said they could reverse the transaction and I said that I'll just deal with it/cancel it via my app, and he said that wouldn't work, he advised that my account had been logged on that morning from California and it has my location as United States. He said what they can do is send me a 3 layer software application at which point I cut him off and said, no it's ok I don't want that, I'll just go into a branch and deal with it there - at which point he hung up. I checked my app and all looked normal access wise, and with my transactions. A few minutes later I tried to call the number back and got a message from Optus advising that "the mobile number" you're trying to reach has been disconnected.

Automatic message claiming vodafone number was being used correctly, first in English and then possibly the same message again in an Asia language.
